Inspired by The Dark Side of The Moon – Pink Floyd.
Droplets on my windscreen do hastily race
To fill the occasional empty space
And the lights, through the droplets distorted
Like a thousand setting suns fill the scene.
My great gig is not in the sky,
nor in the moon’s shadow is tonight.
And, this my mind’s side, to you unseen
Has anything, but in the darkness been.
Incoherent screams of death do repeat
to my mind ’tis no ordinary feat
But it is lost, lost in the beat
to thoughts of time, money and hardships
And in this muse your tunes it skips
Only to have eventually even reality eclipsed.
Reprise:
The great gig is in my mind -
In its dark side – which to you is blind.
And in this side it is greatly bright -
And my great gig goes on into the night.
And amidst the applause and deafening cheer
I realise – that I have no fear.

Posted earlier as well… don’t know where that went.
Anyway, wonderfully envisioned, beautifully expressed. Loved it.
